Counselling & Therapy For Women
I’m Lara, a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor based in Fremantle & online.
I’m interested in all aspects of our humanity—the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’ve done the gritty work in my own therapy and I know the importance of a steady companion in the therapy process. I am passionate about working with mothers, and women at all stages of life.
Are you experiencing grief, anxiety, relationship problems, overwhelm, the weight of motherhood, transition to menopause, body shame—or just fed up with feeling disconnected, lost, or stuck? You’re not alone. Many women carry invisible burdens that wear them down over time.
I offer trauma-informed holistic therapy and counselling.
The first goal is always to support you to slow down, connect with your body and your own inner wisdom, and understand what’s important to you in the therapy space.
My lived experience and qualifications make me an empathetic and insightful counsellor. My practice is LGBTQIA+affirmative and I welcome you just as you are, whatever your story or identity in this world.
Counselling is relational, and I want you to feel that you have found somebody who really gets you. I offer a free 15-minute discovery call where you can find out if my way of working is the right fit for you.
“The Way Out Is In”
-Thich Nhat Hanh
These are some of the reasons people come for counselling with me…
Problems in relationships, separation and divorce.
Feeling overwhelmed by parenting.
Feeling a lot of shame or deep unhappiness about their body.
Life transitions such as motherhood or menopause.
Feeling bad about childhood or early relationships.
Dealing with the death of a loved one.
Grief related to illness, loss of job, identity.
Unhappy with life, feeling stuck.
Experiences of abuse, bullying, discrimination, racism.
Feeling anxious or chronically stressed.
My way of working will suit you if:
You want to feel really seen and listened to — not just nodded at.
You like honesty and being with someone real, not a polished professional act.
You want a therapist who can tune in and respond to what’s actually happening, not follow a script.
You’re over worksheets and self-help tips you could’ve found online.
You’re ready to look a bit deeper — to understand yourself in a way that actually brings relief and change.
You want to feel safe enough to be completely yourself — even with the messy or uncomfortable parts.
You know healing happens through real connection, not just talk.
The idea of therapy feels a bit daunting, and you’d feel better with someone who’s been on the other side of the couch too.
You want someone who’s qualified and experienced, but still warm, human, and easy to be around.
You want therapy that feels human, soulful, and grounded in everyday life — not clinical or cold.
You want to make sense of your feelings, patterns, or relationships in a way that actually fits your life — not just theory.
You value intuition and want a therapist who can sense what’s needed, even when you can’t quite put it into words.
You appreciate a bit of humour and lightness sometimes — because therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time.
You’re looking for support that’s steady and real, not sugar-coated, and not rushed.
You’re tired of trying to “fix yourself” and ready to understand yourself instead.
You want to build inner steadiness — not just get through a crisis, but grow a stronger sense of who you are.
